Good evening, America! It’s currently 11am in Chiang Mai, Thailand and all I can say is wow. What an experience to be in another country where I can’t even read signs or understand what people are saying! It’s very humbling. You’re probably wondering what ministry I’ve been doing so far. So, it looks a little different here. Our host gave us a brief history about the past 200 years of missions in Thailand. Whatever they have been doing isn’t working because less than 1% of the population is Christian! With that being said, my team and I are changing it up and leading with a servants heart by helping others with manual labor. Part of that includes remodeling a missionary hostel. We are scraping walls, repainting, cleaning floors, and moving heavy furniture. At another mission site, we’re helping with a foster home. We are playing with kids, pulling weeds, throwing away dead leaves and trash, and helping to remodel a self-sustaining green house using catfish poop as fertilizer! Really interesting stuff. Today, me and my team are heading to a disclosed location to help. Next blog post, I will update you! With that being said, the city is very large and busy. It’s the first time I’ve been in a place that doesn’t revolve around you. Everyone does their thing and saves face. Public negative and/or big emotion loses trust with people, which is very different from the states – it’s almost refreshing! Also, a lot of Buddha statues and temples are scattered throughout Thailand. They are huge and beautiful and very expensive gold structures. However, you can feel the demonic and unsettling spirits they posses. Pray for us! I will update you next week with more info. Thank you so much for support me and following me along to spread the Good News of Jesus Christ!
